Garin Farm Pilgrimage Resort is located at San Joaquin, Iloilo in the Island of Panay, Philippines. This 14-hectare resort, owned by Mr. Oca Garin, is a fusion of agriculture, leisure and pilgrimage offering a variety of uniquely awesome sceneries and fun-filled activities. It has become a must-see attraction should one pays a visit to the sixth largest island of the Philippines, Panay Island.
Upon your entrance to Garin Farm is a long path covered with green vegetation which seemed unending with livestock on each side. Be warned, then, that foul smelling odor can be perceived as you pass by these. You may either go to the pilgrimage site, restaurant or the resort by foot or through their golf carts at a price. After 10 to 15 minutes of going through the path by foot or 5 minutes by the cart, you can reach the five-hectare lake, restaurant and the entrance to the pilgrimage.
There are several activities that you can try on your visit to the resort. This includes ziplining, kayaking, fishing, swimming and boat paddling. Should a day be not enough for these activities, you can always stay for the night in their uniquely designed rooms.
Your visit in Garin Farm will never be complete if you won't go up to the Divine Mercy cross where you can feel serenity and reflect as well. This is quite a concept of a journey from the creation up to the ascension. As you go up to the 480-step flight, you can find life size figures and statues on each side which portrays biblical scenes including the creation, passion of the Christ and others. The adventure at the top-most flight is the most exciting! You have to get through a 10 to 15-meter tunnel that is pitch black. At the end of it is the most heavenly view that I have seen in my entire life. Everything is white. You won't even get to recognize the skyline because everything is insanely white not to mention the clouds from afar. There are life size statues of people and angels with their glorious trumphets hailing you as you approacch the gates to Christ and the cross of the Divine Mercy.
According to a staff in there, the idea of journey through the black tunnel to this blinding white lightness is something like a manifestation of the concept of life after death.
